Case Studies

A compliance hub that helps federal product teams connect with the American public.

I led the 0→1 design of a web-based compliance hub that helps federal product teams get legal clearance to conduct user research. The hub saves 20+ product teams 100+ hours per project, increasing both organizational efficiency and team capacity to connect with the American public in order to build a more effective and equitable digital government.

A website & application process redesign that supports civic participation in local government.

I led a small team in redesigning the state of Utah’s Boards and Commissions website and application process. The redesign drove a 98% increase in applicant satisfaction, decreased agency staff processing time, and is now used by dozens of state agency staff and thousands of Utah residents who want to have a voice in their local government.

& More!

Actionable design guidance for legal professionals during emergency situations.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many legal aid organizations struggled to continue serving their clients virtually. I translated basic design principles into actionable guidance, so legal professionals could continue providing their services online.

A board game that engages with the history of U.S. interstate highways.

I designed a board game in which players use their hand of cards to cooperate with each other and stop highway construction from tearing up their neighborhoods. Throughout the game, players have a chance to learn about the motivations of key stakeholders, including state and federal departments, politicians, and lobbyists.
